Happy Wedding Shoe Shopping!

I mentioned in an earlier post about a couple that married here at Heather’s Glen last summer. The bride wore a ruby red wedding gown, and her groom wore a white tux with red patent leather shoes. Remember? Well I’m seeing a lot of brides go bold (not so often in their wedding gown), but in their shoes! Bright pink to match the bridesmaids, royal blue for “something blue,” even emerald green for good luck. And let me tell you, I am loving this trend! I wish I had worn colored shoes myself. Instead, I did the typical match the dress shoes. Peep-toe pumps in ivory. But how fun would it have been to have some bling on it? Or a feminine bow? What I like about this trend is that not everyone sees your shoes, depending on your gown, so they can be a little bit of a secret if you really go crazy. Otherwise, I think it’s a great, whimsical touch. And who doesn’t want a bit of whimsy on that special day? Check out some pictures below of some wedding shoe ideas!

Let’s start with something that makes us all feel good. And I know I reference this a lot, but come on- how many of you cried when Carrie finally married Big? And I present to you Manolo Blahnik’s “Something Blue” Satin Pump:

And for my next trick, I will show you something a bit more vampy. Perhaps for all you True Blood and Twilight fans? Say “oui” in French shoe designer Christian Louboutin’s peep-toe pump in Rouge. Nice for Fall, right?

Remember Ralph from the Simpson’s? Remember his Valentine that said “I choo-choo-choose you”? Choose your husband in these flashy Jimmy Choo’s. They’re not so much colorful as fabulous.

And finally, I can’t write this blog without mentioning Cole Haan’s new bridal footwear collection. What’s special about these shoes is the Nike Air technology concealed in the heal and toe of the shoe. If you’re planning on dancing the night away, this is the shoe for you:

I think I will wear colored shoes now…green to match wedding color? Pink to be girly? or Blue for something blue? So many choices!
