On June 5th, 2010, Natalie McGregor married Roger Campana during a beautiful ceremony at the gazebo at Heather’s Glen. The couple met while attending Texas Tech University, Natalie an undergrad at the time and Roger was attending medical school. Natalie and her two new roommates were out to dinner for what she thought would be a girls’ night out, when one of her pals brought a friend: Roger. Her disappointment at a male’s attendance quickly vanished when she met Roger. The two hit it off immediately and he called the next day to ask her out!
A patient at Natalie’s hospital where she worked gave her two movie tickets at Edward’s Theater. She told Roger how they should share a date night the next evening, and he said it just so happened that one of HIS patients gave him a spa gift card at Hotel ZaZa. So a date was planned: Roger scheduled an appointment for Natalie to enjoy a manicure, pedicure, and Swedish massage and then they would go out to the movies. The next day, Natalie’s masseuse was finishing up her massage when she told her she was going to step out for a moment to check on her next treatments. As she did, the masseuse dropped rose petals in front of her, “which I thought was a little strange,” Natalie recalled. Someone stepped back into the room, and while she thought it was the masseuse, she looked up to discover that it was Roger, dressed in a suit, and playing their song “Lucky” on his iPhone! He knelt on one knee, presented an engagement ring, and asked her to marry him. He told her that she was his best friend, and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. She said yes, of course, with tears streaming down her face. “That was one of the happiest moments of my life!”
The couple set out to plan their wedding for the following June. They chose Heather’s Glen for the convenience of the all-inclusive packages. “We didn’t want the hassle of choosing every vendor and Heather’s Glen made it so easy for us. I couldn’t be more pleased with the services that Heather’s Glen provided.”
Natalie wore a stunning Diamond White Alfred Angelo gown, with metallic details. The corset lacing back was a feature she loved about the gown, as well as the way it complimented her curves. Natalie opted for a tiara rather than a veil to really let the gown shine, and wore her mother’s pearls for a sentimental touch. Her bridesmaids wore lavender Alfred Angelo gowns with Victoria Lilac details. Each bridesmaid chose their own gown, keeping with the same color and details, and all knee length. Celebrations & Sweet Creations created her lovely cake and groom’s cake. “I showed Shellie exactly what I wanted for both cakes and she recreated them beautifully for me. I was extremely impressed with the service that she provided!” Cheryl at Cheryl’s Flowers designed the floral bouquets and boutonniers with lavender roses and white lilies.
“Lucky,” by Jason Mraz and Colby Callait, was the song that Roger played on his iPhone as he proposed to Natalie. The couple shared their first dance at their wedding reception to this song. “We tell everyone that we are best friends and that song really describes how we feel about each other.” Heather’s Glen wishes a lifetime of joy and happiness to this lucky couple!
